so, what parts do you keep a spare of? i.e constant replacement set (like you use it, you replace the backup immediatly)
personally i like to keep a spare set of:
complete bulb set (front, rear, possition, dash, clock, indicators)
spare battery
spare brake pads and disk (front disk brake)
spare brake shoes (rear drum brake)
spare engine oil
spare brake fluid (hydrolic front disk brake)
obviously the only spare parts i ride with are the bulbs and a multi-head screw driver. sod getting fined. if i where to get pulled over for a bad bulb i'd at least be able to say "oh, must've just gone, one second" pop out the screw driver n relevant spare bulb, change it on site and hopefully avoid that darned ticket as the copper can then see its working lol ____________________ BCF's biggest cunt list: Cansa, Pits, Rob |

I keep a complete set of pads, one pair on the bike.
Oil and filters
Bulbs kept on bike
Front wheel bearings kept on bike
Starter relay kept on bike
Enough parts in the shed to build a complete bike plus so it's never left off the road waiting for bits. ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? Small pack of fuses and the exhaust baffle under the bike seat.
Spare bulbs, engine oil, filters, brake fluid, spark plugs, wheel bearings and normally a full set of brake pads in the garage.
Also been replacing the swiss cheese OEM allen bolts with stainless alternatives, and recently replaced the rear brake disk with a new one that I'd bought 4-6 months earlier ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

brake / clutch levers. but then mine only cost £5 a pop, so not too much of an outlay for me. used the brake lever the other day dropping the bike on the driveway. replaced it there and then. new replacement turned up yesterday ____________________ Past - 1988 honda revere 600, 1996 kawasaki gpz500s, 1999 Yamaha R6

For my Africa Twin I have got, spare downpipes and collector box, spare wheels (with discs and tyres on), CDI, starter solenoid, vacuum fuel pump, electric fuel pump, complete set of bodywork, clutch basket, clocks, digital trip meter, all three brake calipers, swing arm, rack, seat, lock set, levers, brake pedal, gear lever, alloy bash plate, coils, inner tubes, oil filters, rear suspension linkages plus rebuild kit, speedometer drive.
In other words I never sold all of my previous AT, just the engine, carbs, forks, petrol tank and frame.
For my Varadero I have got spare downpipe gaskets (had one go and I hear it will do it again and again, dodgy design) and an oil filter. ____________________ Blackmail is a nasty word........but not as nasty as phlegm!

I'm terrible for hoarding spares. For my car, I have 3 spare engines, 2 spare gearboxes, a complete set of doors, plus loads of other mechanical bits and pieces. For the RXS, I've got a spare frame, engine, plus a couple of large boxes of stuff. Nothing for the GN as of yet, but that's going to change soon ____________________ Chris
