Driving through residential suburbia earlier following another car through a smallish gap with a rather unthoughtfully parked fiat tipo van obscuring a smaller side road to my left.

Saw unmistakeable flash of Kwack green heading toward the t junction from the side road, turned out to be a ZX7R.

Kwacker saw the first car, and watched it pass, then decided not to look right again, and while still looking left, vision following the rear of the first car, started to pull out straight in front of me.

I slowed, and to be fair was already keeping an eye out to anticipate him not seeing me due to the van. Kwacker suddenly realised he was pulling out without looking, turned head spotted me and promptly grabbed a fistful of front brake and almost dropped bike in middle of road.

Point?

well, meh -

Often a bit of cage bashing on here (and most for good reason!) however sometimes it can be biker at fault. Not slating (we've all made silly mistakes which could easily have gone wrong, luckily for this guy I was doing something a lot of cagers don't, and actually concentrating on driving.

Maybe I should have offered him a sticker?

Very apt given all the bullshit from the big lads recently about kicking cars, taking mirrors and having the strength of tenmen at junctions after a car driver has made a similar error. Ive had a few moments where pretty much the only thing that has saved the fucktard on the bikes life is the fact Id given them that extra consideration because Im a biker myself. Mind you Id doubt if they went home and said 'I was a prick....' theyve more likely given it the big-I-am bollocks about some stupid cager.

Fair play to you for taking that extra care and if mr 7R came away and thought 'Im an idiot' fair play to him too!

Done it myself on the bike after a nightshift. Put my hand up and apologised he just nodded and we both got on with our days. I only have a problem if people pull out on you and then make it out as its my fault they didnt see me. Maybe turning your head to look in the first place would be a start.

Have to like this thread really considering amount that go up criticising car drivers, but I have to say, 70% of the riders I actually see riding are doing so in a twatty manner.

I'm not saying I'm a saint in either the car or on the bike, but it can be a bit of the pot calling the kettle etc.
