1992 E reg mito in red lucky strike colours with race exhaust, engine rebuild with only 11000 miles,

he has 7 years worth of MOT certificates to verify the mileage

he has had it for 2 n a half years, brought it off a mate who had it for 5 years

worth £950?

oo and also does anybody have a picture or this bike in red or if anybody has one because he dont have a computer and i would like to find a general picture

Ermm, would a picture of the bike you're considering buying not be a better idea rather than just a picture of some random one you found on the 'net?

Milage means very little, you want to be paying attention to the service history. Does it come with the standard parts?

What damage has it got?

If he's asking £950 then assuming when you look at it it appears all okay then haggle the price down, start trying to haggle from about £825 and try to get him down a bit below £900.

It's very hard to say if it is worth that much without more details or a picture(s) of it.

I would say £950 is a bit steep for a 16 year old bike!

Get haggling! Laughing

Hi

If it is a Mito then it cannot be E reg (unless someone has put on an older plate for some reason).

Given the prices of sports 125s I would say that it is within reason. If tatty then it will be worth less, immaculate then it would be worth more.

All the best

Keith

As Keith mentioned it can't be a '92 E reg as you said as for that year it should be J or K reg and the Mito only came out I think in the UK at the earliest in 1990. E reg is 1987/8 if I'm not mistaken which would make it one of the Cagiva Freccia models going off the registration. If it is a '92 model Mito then that would more than likely make it a Mark1 version with conventional forks and smaller front brake calipers like this though it could be a Mark2 with USD forks a 4 pot front calipers rather than the older 2 pot's and it should be like this but Mark2's are rare in the UK as anything newer than '93. Though some were available with black number panels, but I think they were the later ones from '93 onwards.

If it's all in reasonably good condition for it's age and it's all straight - engine, frame and registration numbers all match up then £950 sounds a reasonable price as Mito's, even the older ones, hold their prices well and they can still be sold for over £1,000 for the oldest models. Try and make sure it's been looked after well, check it's service history, when it last had a rebuild (wether it was full or just top end) and what kind of oil was used in it.

Might as well say a grand for a 12 year old 125.

Why don't you look for a nsr or rs maybe a 96-98, probaly get one of these for a little over a grand and probaly won't have a dodgy registration No.

Also i have heard parts for the latest models can be hard to get i would'nt want to think what a 92 one is like and you may need some pretty soon on a old bike.

But hey ya never know might be like show room condition but for me it would need to be if it was my money on the table.

if you want a bike like the mito then u should consider a Sachs 125 XTC and at least with one of these u can get parts for it. I think it looks better too. Mr. Green

If you do go ahead and buy it, or any other Mito regardless of age/model and you ever need parts then give Rob a call at Mito Mondo as he specialises in them and usually always has parts in stock, cheaper than 3 Cross aswell and does next day delivery - a top bloke providing an excellent service for Mito owners in the UK, and Worldwide as he ships to EU, the US and even down under I believe.

As for choosing a mid-90's NSR or Rs125 for just over a grand, just remember, they'll depreciate more than a Mito will in that time and just because they're newer doesn't mean they're any better as sports 125's haven't got any better since the early 90's - only slower!![/url]
