hi got a bit of a nightmare on my rg gamma fuel is pissing out of the over flow starting to piss me off removed the carb and everything in the carb at least 6 times today things i have done.

replaced valve needle from another mikuni carb i had seemed to have sorted the problem for 10 mins then it dripped this time ever minute or so air bubbles in the line aswell if that makes a diffrence Confused

set the float height to 25mm as per manual

checked the floats in water and seem ok they dont sink and no holes in them just float around.

cleaned carb as was due anyway

checked the valve float works by opening and closing the floats with my hand and i can go red in the face blowing into the carb it still doesnt leak till petrol is added the needle valve i put in was only used for a hour out of a brand new carb (chinky)

so now as we speak its filling the carb up as i can see through the petrol filter

i blocked off the second overflow which is half way up the carb and it pisses even more is that to do with anything?

many thanks russ

Is your new needle valve the right size? To short will flood the carb. Did you set the float hight with the tank touching the needle and not compressing it?

Maybe the carb's float valve is sticking nearing to close the fuel off so try and use some fine wet/dry sandpaper (roll the paper tightly) and twist it left & right a few times where the float valve slots into the hole and when finished with some carb cleaner/air duster to clean it out.

It's a good trick and it works !

Glad you got sorted mate. BTW, If you carbs are Mikuni and you ever need parts this crowd are quite cheap and a good service.
