What will happen to me?

I was caught doing 47mph in a 30mph zone. I wasn't aware of this until I got the letter this morning. It seems I was caught by a road side camera.

Anyway, I am 17, with a provisional licence. What action will be taken now? How many points will I get and what sort of fine am I looking at as I'm sure some of you have also been in the same situation.

Well your looking at 3 Points and a £60 fine. And don't forget don't get more than 6 points on your licence as it will get revoked under the new drivers act.

You will probably get a £60 fine and 3 points. You'd be unlucky to get a summons for that, unless you decided it wasn't you who did it.

Unfortuantley guys the insurance peeps are starting to look at datbase rubbish to check people out...especially young riders...so I have been told anyway....3 points will only make a little dent..speaking from experience.

I think if you don't tell the insurance company you have points and then you have a prang they can say your insurance is void because the information they have for you is not correct.

Without wishing to be a doom monger, I thought 3 points was only up to 15mph over ? This was 17 over so could be 4 5 or 6 ? (probably 4?)
