I've heard lots of bad stories about Ryanair but I assumed it wouldn't be so bad flying out with them to Denmark.
We were on our way to train with the Danish army, and the army had booked us all onto a Ryanair flight, had sorted out all our documents and details, and for those that were Commonwealth citizens and not British citizens had sorted out the necessary paperwork including letters from the Danish government specifically stating that the person in question was allowed to travel to Denmark as well as a NATO travel warrant.

But no. One of our colleagues, from Kenya, was not allowed on the flight. Despite the officers speaking to the manager, who phoned "up higher", and showing them that he possessed ALL the necessary documents, had gone through all the red tape necessary, Ryanair refused to take him because it was "against company policy".

So the poor guy had to go home before we had even started.

Funnily enough the flight home was an RAF flight. We were bussed right onto the airport at Billund without going through the terminal and effectively walked onto the plane on the runway. Our bags weren't checked, neither were our documents.

What could their reasoning possibly have been? I'm sure that they wouldn't have barred him from the flight just because he was from Kenya. I completely fail to understand which is why I am so angry.

Ryanair are cunts.

Worst airline in the history of airlines. They make EasyJet look good.

I don't care, I'm white and therefore better than other races. Doesn't affect me. Well done Ryanair.

It doesn't effect me as I'm white, however that is So wrong !

The thing that makes it even more insulting on the behalf of Ryan air is its a " air line " for fuck sake, every day every hour flights are coming and going out of air ports all around are country & other country's with millions of mixed variety's of people, why would they even consider getting like that over 1 passenger on a airline, when hundreds of other air lines don't take a blind bit of notice!

Ryan air are faggot's, their was a bit on radio 2 & in the paper that they wanted to make all their passengers stand while in flight for 3 hours or less, what the hell kind of service is that?

I would never go with Ryanair only Thomas cook etc...

Matty

They seem to be a law unto themselves. We were due to fly to Westport for a good friends 3 day wedding due.

We had two fights cancelled, then delay delay, asked for extra money to re issue boarding passes etc.. etc.. Late coming back as well after the weekend messing up my wife's work.

I know it's a public forum but I can honestly state they are absolute shite, I will never even think about using them again and never recommend them to anyone.

The so called budget side of it actually end up costing us more than the cost of a decent BA or Easy Jet flight.

If enough people stopped bloody using them they would have to re think the policies, but that'll never happen, they'll never run out of " we'll try it and see" customers'

Just in case it's not clear I hope you can tell after ruining a potentially good weekend in Ireland I think they are bastards.

And sooo many more peeps will be posting on forums and social networks in the future about bad experiences they've yet to have with these muppets.

O'Leary's laughing (at them) all the way to the bank.

You would if thought if anything they would be letting any old sod get on the plane, after all its all money, BUT NO Ryan " ass holes " air have to be different.

It will have been a health and safety thing. Yer man didn't have a credit card to swipe in the event that he needed an oxygen mask.

Haha you can just imagine it can't you ?

Instead of the cabin crew showing you the in's & outs of the plane they would be saying " in the event of a emergency please swipe your credit card in the slot above this will then realise your breathing mask, but only once you have paid can you slide down the escape slide "

Ryanair- Air travel for cnuts, by cnuts, I point blank refuse to use them, so much so I paid £50 more when I went to Japan to fly all Lufthansa, as opposed to Ryan Air then Lufthansa, because RA are scum.

And yet you felt the need to include racism in the title. Rolling Eyes

He might not of had his passport or his passport might have been out of date or damaged. The name on his ticket might have been wrong. All of these are standard reasons.

But based on the details you gave I'm guessing that he was Hitler in disguise. Damn those sneaky Nazis.

Pick the cheapest air travel, get shitty service. Pay 3 times the price for BA and you get on time flights and no racism. Although I doubt this is a race issue, no company would do that. Even if the CEO was the leader of the KKK it would make no business sense.

My one and only experience with Ryan Air was flights to and from Krakow. Although the plane was minty as and the cabin boy (or whatever you call him) was as orange as .... an orange (?) the flight landed on time and took me back home on time Very Happy

Flew RA to Faro once, never again. Checked every bit of hand luggage weight and dimensions then delay for 2 hours. On the way back checked every bit of hand luggage weight and dimensions. Get on the plane off we taxi, perhaps this isn't so awful after all. Plane has mechanical fault and we end up sat on it going nowhere for an hour. Bussed back to the terminal for another 2 and a half hours.

Bag of shit. Thumbs Down

Yeah, if you're taking off and landing at any old airfield in the middle of nowhere with a grass-runway and a bunch of Cessnas parked-up at the side, the benefit is that you don't have to wait in the stack at Heathrow.

The one good thing I can say about ryanair is they're not quite as bad as wizz air.

With wizz air I had two very small bags that combined were nowhere near as big as cabin bag. I was refused entry to the plane until I went and bought a shopping bag. With Ryan air they made me strap them together to make '1 item'.

Other than them not being quite as bad as ultra low cost eastern European flying buses there's nothing else redeeming I can say. They're not cheap once you factor in the transfer costs, I've never left on time, but somehow always got that stupid "hey diddly diddly another flight on time" jingle when I landed despite the plane needing another half hour drive on the tarmac to get to the bus that takes you to the terminal.

Oh and the stupid charge to print a boarding pass! I'd consider that unreasonable and a fine, I'm sure there's rules against that kind of thing.
