Helmets ?

I got a budget of about £60 to £100 to get a new helmet and would like to know if there are any I should avoid or are the budget ones all the same ?

Im after a full face one.

well .... i never use the bluetooth !
i only bought it as i'm set in my ways & i liked the last helmet
i used the bluetooth on my 1st helmet a few time's , you don't really need to press any buttons as it answers automatically after a few rings .
if you press 1 of the buttons you get last number redial .
or you can listen to music on your phone .
but for me using it is a waste of time as my busa has gp pipes & my hammer has stage 1 pipes so its a struggle to hear what people are saying + you don't know who's phoning you till they start talking ..

While a lot of people would have kittens just thinking about it, why not consider buying used. There are a lot of people out there that buy bikes and spend a fortune on all the gear only to sell it all again a year later after hardly using it. If you're a small, you're laughing because a lot of the helmets bought as pillion ones, (which tend to be Small), never got used at all.
Buy local, try it on, examine it closely, (and the seller), smell it, (although "washable", some lids never get clean of smelly hair smell and it's not nice, although the idea is to buy "nearly new"), check out prices of visors, (the last used helmet I bought, an AGV, came with a new clear one and a blue one and a dark tint one .

Research the pros and cons - personally I'm not too fussed about wearing a helmet someone else has worn but like I say, some people almost pass out in amazement at the idea. I wore an old open face with hardly any padding for years so they're all mega safe to me after that.

Remember - as soon as you get home with your new lid, it's "used", (although you do know it's history - granted).

There..............I've said it, (waits for public flogging and the normal "what price do you put on your life" cliches). I can't believe I'm the only person that buys £400 helmets for 50 knicker and still alive to tell the tale.

In my experience buying used bikes, parts & clobber, as well as the rip off merchants, there are a lot of genuinely nice, generous and helpful bikers out there still, as in any other walk of life, it's just a question of sorting the "wheat from the chaff". I digress.

BTW, (and I'm fully aware of what this sounds like but thought of it after checking out above link), I've got a never used HJC lid you can have for 25 knicker If you're small, I've got a black Shoei one too somewhere.

there just normal lids , if i mind right there ok till about 40 mph then it gets hard to hear

Just looked, cos I can never remember, mines an X-R2, (probably made about 300 years ago ), cost me £33 with the three visors.

You can nearly always score HJC lids for less than a ton, I swear by them, saved my napper in a head on with a furniture van last year.

Mate of mine headbutted the M8 with his the year before...
