Massive sense of deja vu with this thread.

I don't see the appeal of it myself but it's certainly as cheap and safe as motorsport coud ever get.

I did gymkhana / sports riding ("spo-rai" as they called it) a few times in Osaka and it was huge fun. There were lots of people on 250s and my CBR400RR seemed heavy and clumsy by comparison, which I thought was the reason for me being so slow. Then I let one of the good guys (actually a girl) take the CBR round the course and she was about twice as fast as me. A cruel lesson in the importance of technique Very Happy

A lot of people liked the Honda BROS for gymkhana, apparently has nice predictable power delivery.

On a side note, I've only ever met one bloke who was into moto-gymkhana, and it was Neil!

Haha, it was at Snetterton last year, you came down to see Dave Perkins, think you were picking up your z750 later that day. I was the lad in the ridiculous white one-piece.

If memory serves you correctly predicted that one of the lads was in the wrong frame of mind to go on track, and sure enough, a few laps into session two he broke his back! All fun and games...
