Yes you ARE.... you have done CBT and you KNOW learner limits are 125cc AND 14.5bhp. RS wont be 33bhp either... best I think were 31, most high 20's. And they are not a practical, reliable every day bike, or particularly learner-freindly, and tend to be more expensive to run than a 'big-bike'.
Want a 'sports'? Get a licence and buy one!
Want a practical every day bike? Get a licence & buy one.
Want 'cheap' wheels? Get a licence & buy one...
Are you seeing a 'theme' here?
'fast' 125's are NOT 'fast', when for the sake of a bit of effort you can have as much performance as your bottle & wallet will allow.
Had this debate before, and I struggled to find many bikes in the Used-Bike-Buyers guide actually as SLOW as a full power Aprillia!
All the bikes that were 'close', were things like Honda CX500's or old GSX400's, middle-weight commuter fare NO-ONE would suggest was particularly 'fast' or exiting. Aprilia RS's & thier ilk are only remarkeable by fact that they have pretty mediocre performance from an engine displacement normally the reserve of L-Platers.
Given that you ought to have a full licence to ride one, that capacity limitation is irrelevent, at which point one has to ask what the point is; when you can get as much performance for a lot less money, or even a lot more performance for pretty much the same money, and not be fretting about piston life or siezures.
Licence is the pass-port to all biking has to offer.......
As for the chinky-bikes..... yes, for the most part they are. At least the genuine article Honda CBR or Yamaha R125 have the max performance allowed for learner limits..... those things often struggle to even provide that of a humble YBR or CG, while often being as unreliable as an Aprillia! ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!
Current Bikes:'Honda VF1000F' ;'CB750F2N' ;'CB125TD ( 6 3 of em!)'; 'Montesa Cota 248'. Learner FAQ's:= 'U want to Ride a Motorbike! Where Do U start?' |
