Can anyone recommend a good cheap winter glove? Even with my bar muffs I was in actual pain when I got to work this morning. I've only got one pair of gloves which are a worn out summer pair so i could really do with getting a second set.

Not keen on the heated glove idea....

They don't look as though they would be any use in an off either!

Neither was I, but these are heated *under* gloves, they go under your regular riding gloves. So same safety and extra warmth Smile

I'm sure alot of people will agree:

https://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/hein-gericke-pathan-evo-sheltexr-3-finger-handschuhe-schwarz.html

Lobster glove ftw, currently on offer at £41.99 too, will be picking up a spare pair for that price.

Hmm the above also comes in a 5-finger version:

https://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/motorcycle-gloves/hein-gericke-pathan-evo-sheltexr-5-finger-handschuhe-schwarz.html

Seems to be the same spec, so any reason why the 3-finger type is preferred?

Also, what about these:

https://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/motorcycle-gloves/hein-gericke-leather-x-trafit-gore-texr-glove.html

These ones are GoreTex (the other two don't seem to be).

They keep your hands warmer Laughing
Seriously, having the fingers together does help them keep each other warm, reduces the surface of the finger exposed to windchill etc. Managed to melt mine on the exhaust and the gaffa tape isn't as insulating Thumbs Down

I have the 3 finger and 5 finger version.
With the 5 finger the lining pulls out and is a real pain to get back correctly. I do not use these any more.

The 3 finger version are still going strong after many years.

You wankah....

I did the same to a pair of Gortex Alpine Stars on the zorst of the S1000RR on their 1st 'outing' Jan 2012.
Like a Phanny..

Distraught doesn't come near how I felt when I shoved my hands in them and saw the 'three foot wide' hole that was previously the little finger plastic vent.

I feckin' hate motorbikes. Crying or Very sad

I have a pair of Spada waterproof jobbies like Enforcers but not, can't remember the name of them - picked them up at the bike show for about £30 3 years ago. I also have the HG Patheon

The Patheon aren't as waterproof in my experience but others have suggested it's just they may be old or not particularly cared for. The Spada have been totally water proof so far, touch wood.

Also have a pair of these Thumbs Up
Make sure you use the size guide on the site, my summer gloves are size small, whereas these were extra Small. Fit perfectly, but would of been bulky if I had simply order the same size without using the guide.
Absolutely brilliant glove though, cheers Mr Borg Mr. Green

What make are your muffs?

I did 100 miles in the dark/freezing temps last night with muffs and some summer gloves and was warm enough.

Have you thought about heated grips?

I used some very thin silk under-gloves for a while, even they made things feel cumbersome. Those things you linked look pretty chunky!

+1 for the 3 fingered Pathan's.

Also, that "offer" is a bit of a con, the usualy retail price is £44.99, not £59.99. Still a good price though. The first pair I got years ago only cost £39.99. (The first pair didn't fall apart or anything, they fell out my bag! Evil or Very Mad )
