Apparently "It looks stunning from any angle"

For my money "It looks stupid from any angle". So they were almost right. Smile

I'll play up to what I guess is my cliche at this point - but they should make one in the shape of a scooter! Hide all the batteries underneath the seat, put the engine where the CVT transmission[1] would be, it'll (still) have terrible weight distribution, but the acceleration figures ought to be great.

Low noise, twist + go, short range, it's set up for urban friendly travel. I'd consider it.

As a big bike replacement? Not a chance, not until there is a decent quick refuelling mechanism for electric vehicles.

[1] Yes I know that's redundantly redundant

He said its faster than 150bhp bikes because they need to wait for the air and fuel to mix and be combusted etc.

What a fool.

I'll ride it when it doesn't look like a tumour on wheels.

From the comments

"Is it road legal for a 16 year old in the UK?"
Declan Horton, Gloucestershire - 2nd June 2011

Firebox says: "If you get the gearing reduced and have a provisional license then yes!"

Is this true?

Don't see any reason for it to look like that because it is or isn't electric.

One of the issues with these 'new tech' (or in the case of electric, very old tech) bikes is that people seem to want to spend a lot of the money on funky designs that have been disregarded for ICE bikes for good reasons (mostly, they're stupid and ugly, I suspect.)
Does distract a bit from how basic the electric bikes tend to be.

It's the beginning of the end of the beginning of the beginning.

If it just looked like an 09 blade it would be fairly awesome 100 mile range in town is plenty really for commuting n tingaling. Use a petrol tingaling for longer journeys + fun.

120nm torque is fairly good yes?

Karma Thumbs Up

This certainly isn't the 'begging' - lots more interesting stuff out there Smile.

No, it won't be legal for a 16 year old.

However, possible that you could make something to restrict the power - and then you've got the interesting prospect on one bike that can do everything from a 50cc ped to a 600cc sports bike (and better acceleration, though restricted top speed and massively restricted range.)
