Who's done what? Planning all three next year. Anyone else?

Vague planning to do triathlon(s).
But that does involve learning to swim, as well as getting off my backside more.
(Well, learning to swim half decently, rather than splashing anyone in a 5m radius while making imperceptible progress Smile .)

Just as a general fitness target and certainly not expecting to do well.

Generally don't ride Sportives. I refuse to pay nearly £50 to ride on our Queens Highways when the road is still open to normal traffic. I tend to ride Audax events which are anywhere between £5-10 but are not way marked. I just use GPS.

Going to do a Bi-Athlon in 2013, but my swimming is so poor that a triathlon is way off.

I've got a few things in the plan for next year, so far I think it should go like this....

Feb - Dorset 'Ride to the Pies' - but not sure if is definitely on
April - Dorset Coastal 200km Audax
May - Hampshire Hilly Hundred
June - Chiltern Sportive
Sept - New Forest (and IoW) on and off shore 200km
Oct - New Forest Gridiron

Not quite sure what will happen July/August, but hopefully find something.

I really do fancy the Alps soon, maybe for my 35th birthday I'll be in good enough shape.

This is a tough one in the Trough of Bowland. Which is why I'm not doing it.

I've got 2 sprint tri's and an Olympic distance one planned for next year. Following year a 70.3 in the May. After that, later in 2014 a full Ironman, but it depends where we can work out to holiday around it.

Maybe doing the Sheffield Half Marathon, maybe Great North Run too and a couple of big sportives to tie in with the triathlon training plan.

I also had to learn to swim all over again, well, the front crawl anyway, I can breastroke all day, but the crawl was a different prospect. Soon comes though, and endurance comes quick too. I'd advise investing in a pullbuoy, makes a massive difference.

Fairly certain they do a full ironman down here near Poole. Or it may be a half.

Either way, they are insanity. I know for certain I'll never, ever do one.

I've got a very vague plan to set this as a 'target'.

https://www.nofussevents.co.uk/event/The-Big-Ben-Nevis-Triathlon/2771/

Have cycled 80k and ran 12k in a day (though with a rest in between), as well as 20k cycle and 5k run consecutively.
A long way to go and as mentioned swimming really sucks.
If I could finish the above event, I'd certainly consider myself 'happy' with my fitness level Smile.

doing a charity ride from London to Paris in aid of Macmillan after my aunt died of cancer last year so thought it might be a fun way of raising a few quid. also just booked the wiggle northern Angel 94mile sportive for August. Looking to book another two big rides, either sportive or audax for March and May. if anyone can recommend any decent ones up north ?

Full version!
https://www.ratracecitytosummit.com/

Rat race do some proper endurance races, but although I'd love to do something like this, doing the run would kill me, I'd drown if I attempted the swim, and theres only an outside chance I could complete the bike ride Sad

Back on topic, I'm hoping to at least get fit enough to do the Ulverston triathlon this September - 400m/30k/5k or so, although I do need to seriously improve my swimming. It really is that bad Thumbs Up

Did the Blenheim tri as a team last year, going it again this year by myself. Good beginners Tri although the run up hill from the lake to transition is a killer!

There are also a few over the year at the eton rowing lake which i'm tempted by.
