Vague planning to do triathlon(s).
But that does involve learning to swim, as well as getting off my backside more.
(Well, learning to swim half decently, rather than splashing anyone in a 5m radius while making imperceptible progress .)
Just as a general fitness target and certainly not expecting to do well. |

I've got 2 sprint tri's and an Olympic distance one planned for next year. Following year a 70.3 in the May. After that, later in 2014 a full Ironman, but it depends where we can work out to holiday around it.
Maybe doing the Sheffield Half Marathon, maybe Great North Run too and a couple of big sportives to tie in with the triathlon training plan.
I also had to learn to swim all over again, well, the front crawl anyway, I can breastroke all day, but the crawl was a different prospect. Soon comes though, and endurance comes quick too. I'd advise investing in a pullbuoy, makes a massive difference. ____________________ Responsibility. It's a difficult reality for some. I'm running the 2014 Sheffield Half Marathon on behalf of Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice. Please sponsor me, even if it's just a quid.

I've got a very vague plan to set this as a 'target'.
https://www.nofussevents.co.uk/event/The-Big-Ben-Nevis-Triathlon/2771/
Have cycled 80k and ran 12k in a day (though with a rest in between), as well as 20k cycle and 5k run consecutively.
A long way to go and as mentioned swimming really sucks.
If I could finish the above event, I'd certainly consider myself 'happy' with my fitness level . |

Full version!

Rat race do some proper endurance races, but although I'd love to do something like this, doing the run would kill me, I'd drown if I attempted the swim, and theres only an outside chance I could complete the bike ride
Back on topic, I'm hoping to at least get fit enough to do the Ulverston triathlon this September - 400m/30k/5k or so, although I do need to seriously improve my swimming. It really is that bad ____________________ CBT 23/09/10 - Theory 19/03/11 - Mod1 19/04/11 - Mod2 06/05/11
