I think that either Castrol (GPS) or Silkolene (?) 10w40 will be sufficient...they're only semi-synth, but they should be good enough for road bikes. ____________________ TiN

Some users of fully synth have reported clutch slipping after a while, unless you change the oil often (every 1500 miles)...but some ppl haven't experienced any problems at all...
...if you can source some 10W40 fully synth, then go for that...but most of the stuff that is available tends to be 5W40...(such as Castrol R4) ____________________ TiN

In last month's bike/Ride (I forget which) they had a review of a race fully-synth oil that added about 8hp over standard oil to some 600.
However it would need very regular changing and possibly a race clutch with stronger springs (, which I have... hmmmm /me considers )
I've been told that using fully synth in the zx6 can cause clutch slip when the engine heats up, however many miles it's done with the oil. |

lol...did you see the cost of that oil though? £75! ...it may add 8HP, but it don't last forever...at £75 a pop, you're probably better off saving up for a race system.
The 'W' stands for Winter, which refers to the viscosity of the oil, and, I guess, the suitability of the oil for all-year use (dunno, though) ____________________ TiN

Get GPS....semi synth - so you can mix it with fully synth when you decide to top up...AND it's PINK!!!!! (thanks to Tin and G for their recommendation!!)
I must say, having changed from standard 10W40 to the semi-synth the gear change feels smoother than ever. ____________________ Avast! Pirates ahoy!
