and bolts Smile

any one know where I can get some?

I'm not looking for Tasty-nuts style shiny ones, rather the common-gardern variety, normal ones.

If I remember www.mr-fastner.com used to do a big box of assorted bike bolts, but their web sites seems to be down Sad.

Does anyone know of any similar places that I can get, hopefully a big tub of assorted bolts as well as various specific one's (ie I need one for my sub-frame on the zx6r, which is pretty chunky so I doubt it'll be a regular size)

Yea, probably.. probably only for the single ones, and I thought I might as well order everything at once rather than annoying a garage with a long list of specific sized-Bolts.

yes, I *have* seen the tasty nuts web site..

But their packs are about twice the price of other places

did a search on google at work this morning... just after I pressed 'enter' with a search for 'tasty nuts' .. I wondered if I really wanted to be doing that at work Confused... but it actually responded with a reasonable selection of appropriate sites, and not *too* many dodgy ones Confused

Hi

Just look in yellow pages for a fastener supplier, such as IFS

However, if the bolt is stressed (such as brake caliper mounts, etc) then I would say to use original bolts. The strength of bolts varies (normally marked on the top for generic bolts), so just imagine the effects of the bolt snapping

What dimensions are the bolts you need?

All the best

Keith

cheers....

and

'doh'

I had been looking on there a few days ago for tool chests... but some how manged to forget about somewhere called 'screwfix' Confused

The bolt that matters the most is for the subframe on the zx, which at a guess is about M10/M12 x 40mm, most of the rest are little bits... especially for the nsr.

Go raid a scrap yard!! Entertainment AND cheep nuts and bolts of varying sizes and threads - simply collect as many varieties as possible and you;re bound to find SOMETHING that matches Very Happy

My dad has two wonderful ice cream containers full of nuts and bolts whic have been pilfered off cars, bikes, furniture etc since the 1930's (we emptied both grandads' sheds) and we managed to find bolts in there which fit the NSR a treat...had to cut them down a bit...but all the same - great fun!
