Need ideas as to what the problem is. If I try and do some things, basic things like looking at G maps and zoom in too fast I get a white screen. The whole screen, and nothing but the screen turns white.

I have done a disc check and clean up etc even a defrag yesterday and today I got the same white screen only in black.

Only way to get rid of it is power the pc down with the power button. Weird thing is my mouse stays lit. After a reboot I get the normal "start windows in safe mode" bollocks and it starts fine. But I have had a few freezes in a matter of days.

Suggestions?

Scrolling through it I find this a couple of times both together and both around the time the PC blew up today.

Code:
The NVIDIA Update Service Daemon service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not start due to a logon failure.

Code:

The nvUpdatusService service was unable to log on as .\UpdatusUser with the currently configured password due to the following error:
Logon failure: the specified account password has expired.

To ensure that the service is configured properly, use the Services snap-in in Microsoft Management Console (MMC).

Get a feeling it might well be the graphics card. It is shiter than shite and I have been meaning to update it.

Check your PM in a few mins buddy, need a bit of advice.

if thats the case and you wanted to upgrade anyway may be time to bite the bullet if it is hardware
and not down to a driver issue

I dont know where its getting ide3 from....
You only have 2 drive connections, they are sata and are both currently in use by the dvd drive and the hard drive.

I know that some bios' see sata as ide #2 and #3 though, but i wont be a teffers and go into it.

You could swap the dvd drive and the hard drive to see if the errors still occur.

This is the manual for your pc dude.

Hmm, these things are a bit of a grey area.
