Just a few questions as to how much you think these are worth their money:

Scottoiler; doing a fair bit of commuting and pleasure riding and to be honest, i'm thinking it'd be easier to get one of these then to constantly be maintaining the chain (obviously it'll still need maintenance, but think this'll be cheaper and more effective in the long run). Edit: and which one? Touring or Universal?

and when a new chain/sprocket is required...'o' ring, 'x' ring or 'x' ring gold?

Rear hugger; do they serve much of a purpose and how good are they, and which brand would you recommend?

Double bubble screen; got to be red! They offer good protection? Are they very effective?

Fender extender; As Rear hugger questions.

Mushrooms; any particular brand recommended more than others? And where is best to place them - frame, fairing or engine?

and lastly, would anyone recommend Oxford a) disk locks (or Kryptonite better?) and b) Sports panniers, tank bag and tail pack? - again, gotta be red - or possibly black in case of future bike changes.

Cheers all
R

The rear hugger helps cut down on the amount of cleaning you have to do. On my bike the underside of the subframe where the seats are still seems to get fairly grubby. However I think the hugger saves me from most of the poop that would be thrown up by the wheel. Should also help reduce the salty winter rubbish, so given your amount of commuting, perhaps its a good idea for the bike's sake.

Go for one, heard good reviews about them but they sometimes over oil a bit too much Laughing

Worth their weight in gold for keeping most of the shite off your shock etc

Good makes are very effective and look good too, ask around on ZX forums for best one

Go for R&G only (personally) I'm sure many others will reccomend R&G only too... www.rg-racing.com

Oxford aren't that great in general DON'T even consider a lock with a round key lock as they can be opened with a plastic pen!!! Kryptoshite have started replacing all locks like this and Oxford have just stuck their fingers in their ears and gone lalalalalal we can't hear you.... get RiDE magazine as it has the full information on it!

Scottoilers can be great but dont presume its a fit and forget.

Depending on the weather you will have to turn the flow up or down. Up when its freezing and down when its hot. With the weather as it is now, freezing one day warm the next I am turning mine up and down like a yoyo to avoid either no oiling or the bike getting covered.

I bought mine so I will use it but I wouldnt buy one again. I think you are better off cleaning and oiling the chain yourself.

If you do go for a scottoiler do not splash out the extra £17 for the dual injector cos they just dont work.

For ZX parts try ebay, there are loads of screens and huggers etc on there at the moment. Another great source of info is Mcnninjas.

I have gone for a Scott Oiler, an Alarm and a set of R&G Crash Bungs (R&G are the best from what my friends have experienced)
Soon to get; Double bubble screen, rear hugger.
Just my "extras" and therefore what I would suggest, but just my opinion.

I think a scottoiler is a good investment as the oil supplied by scottoiler is also good a washing the grit from your chain. I have the universal as the bottle fits under my seat, the touring one is usually fitted behind the number plate.
Thumbs Up
