Men & Women of BCF lend me your ears........
right finally got a chance to check the relay on my indicators
its rated as :-
23W x 2 + 3.4 (4) W
21W x 2 + 3.4 (4) W
indicators on the bike have 10w bulbs in
is my relay rated at 23W max so i will need 5W bulbs?
or am i getting this the wrong way?
Gracias

That's rated for 2 x 21W indicator bulbs per side + 1 x 4W bulb for the tell tale. Remember you'll only ever have two bulbs plus the tell tale active at any time. |

freinds, romans, bcf rs, give me your CG's.
another good cure for dodgy cg indicators is ...remove them, especially on a custom. It is more dangerous of course but you'll look cooler when you get t boned.
p.s..remember that the wrong wattage rated indicator relay box can also cause the indicators to stay on,usually a relay too higher wattage ,stays on,your lower wattage makes em flash too quick.
pps check out any dodgy earths. ____________________ nearly a normal tax paying tosser.......with ferrileness suzi100,cg125,cb125scb100n,cb175,cd100,cj250t,kh250,c15,125 bantam, super 6,rickman gs750,xt500,250rs,dt175,lifan125,dolomite1850,metro,Morris220ld,morrisfg,leyland princess, range rover, corsa,vw camper .now struggling with legs. Yep. As above, you're only using half the rated capacity of the relay which means that the bimetallic element won't be heating and switching. You could do one of two things here:
1. Change the relay for a load independent electronic one.
2. Fit 21W bulbs to the indicators.
Either will sort the problem for you. |
