Yamaha ybr 125 idle ajustment.

Hi, Got myself a 2011 Yamaha ybr 125 and this cold weather is playing havoc with my tick over, i'm having to keep the choke on for quite a while and then even when it's warmed up the rev counter still shows under 1000 revs . How can i tweak this up a bit?

When you say a 2011 YBR, do you mean a 4 year old carb model which was eventually registered in 2011 and advertised as a 2011 model?

There was one such bike (in red) with a built in square headlamp fairing up for sale in a dealers recently.

Hi, it's a 2011 registered 61 plate 2 years old. No kick start!

Tickover adjustment will be by way of an anticlockwise twist of the small brass screw found on the right hand side of the injector body when engine is at normal working temperature. 1300-1500rpm is book recommendation for idle speed.
Try 1/2 turn first.

Might sound a bit slack, but is that right hand side when sat on bike or facing the bike ?

Out of curiosity, what are you adjusting that you believe to be a choke?

If everything's working as it should the revs will increase automatically to compensate for a cold engine and return to normal once having reached normal operating temperature.

On the left hand side of the carb there is a leaver with a black rubber end that pushes up for on and down to turn off.

Err, it's autochoke if it's 2011, otherwise something weird is going on with that bike

I didn't know you could set it's idle at all! Always baffled me

Boris, if yours is 2008 what the hell have i been told to lift as the choke that increases the revs??

Mines running fine but I had my first problem a few days ago - ran out of fuel after 350 miles - because of the cold it runs much richer for much longer- fortunately lowering the bike onto the footrest released 1/2 a liter or so of fuel from the dead zone in the tank and this allowed me to carry on to the petrol station where I purchased 13.5 liters of gogo juice at a cost of 19.01 !!!!

Hi,Vin/chassis/frame number match V5 ! Last 4 numbers are 2007 please tell me this is not the year of manufacture as it is registered 2011 on a 61 plate !!!

Hi,Just checked and it was manufactured in 2007 and registered 2011 So not a lot i can do about that !!!
So back to my original question, how do i adjust the idle/tick over ??
