I bloody wish it was summer again. Now that Ive got a bike I want to ride it all the time, Im constantly consumed with thoughts of riding it =P

But the bloody weather is ridiculous. Its dark at 3.45pm and cold all day.

And whats more depressing is that I keep forgetting... Summer in the UK doesnt kick in till June these years... 7 months! =(

It's not really winter either though. Last week was the worst cold snap we've had for a very long time. At 4pm it was 10C and raining, at 5pm, it was -4 and snowing.

Since then it's been boring and grey, just a bit damp. The weekends still work fine for riding even when it's getting dark at 4pm IMO.

If nothing else, learning how to ride in crap conditions, so long as you're not miserable, wet and cold, should be good for you. When the conditions are better, you should then in theory be able to take advantage of them even better.

The main annoyances I have at this time of year are the wet leaves, farmers spreading muck all over the road and the all year nuisance of random gravel on corners and less random gravel at junctions.

Having said all that, locking the front wheel at 3 mph on a slippery wet road and almost going into the back of a CBR6 scared me just as much too.

I had over 6 weeks of summer taken from me this year. My own fault though. Note to self, dont fall off bike.

This weather doesnt bother me, but the bike hates it! Refuses to warm up to thrashing temperature! Crying or Very sad

Shut up you twat it was pissing down and my tyre pressures were 6psi down front and rear, as well. Middle Finger

I went out for a little ride out today with another 400. It was dry. No probs. You had plenty of grip for whatever you wanted to do.

More than enough for a new rider.

Actually we should start getting decent mild and dry weather from about March, like it was this year.

And I personally don't mind this kind of weather, aslong as its not icey or snowing then its fine with me!

Agreed, I'm happy with the weather so long as it's dry really. In fact after last week's face numbingly cold weather it actually felt like nice weather at the start of the week.

Yeah it's been quite dry here too the past few days, had no problems hacking it around at normal speeds and getting normal lean angles on nice corners even with my squared off tyre, only time i've had trouble is very early in the morning (like i came back from a rideout down the coast at 3am the other morning with a few lads, it was a bit icy then and also been a tad slippy on a few journeys to work).
