When I passed my test the other bloke with us was 23stone... riding a SR (dodgy 125 cruiser style thing)... He used up allmost all teh suspension travel jsut sitting on it and couldn't get much over 30.

Eh?...so the examiner can take on more than one learner?...I wouldn't mind that actually...or did I misinterpret?

Nah only for instructors, they are allowed to have two at once per instructor on the road. There'll only be you on your test Confused . btw they follow/ride infront of you on a bike.

I waited one year so that i could do my DAS. I didnt really see the point of a restricted license, as i would probably only come to regret it at some point!
I did 2 days training, then test on the third day.

Another reason in favour of doing a DAS, is that the instructors can only by law take two learners out at a time on 500s. So you therefore get better teaching.
Unlike the restricted license on 125s, where the instructors can take out at least 4 (i think), so you dont get so much advice!

When i took my test, the examiner followed behind me in a car.
My instructor says that this is probably because he was only about 5ft5" - so couldnt really reach the ground very easily!
But some examiners go out on bikes.
