Well I have just discovered loads of gunge under the filler cap of my GPZ, and I am quite worried.

The oil was changed less than 500 miles ago, and the coolant level has not changed as I check it everytime I use it.

So where is this water coming from?

If you don't know the bike is a 1995 Kawasaki GPZ500S.

Cold weather = condensation = mayo in cap.

Take it for a long run and it should all go. If your water level isn't dropping I wouldn't be overly worried, if you are just change your oil and keep an eye on it.

Have spoken to 2 mechanics today, and they both said the same thing.

According to them the GPZ is notorious for getting condensation in the engine and the gunge is exactly that.

Since the weather has gotten colder and I am only using the bike for short trips, its not getting up to temperature thus forming condensation.

Just taken the bike for a bloody good long run and got it well and truely up to temp and there is no gunge at all in the engine or under the filler cap.

Take the bike for a minimum 2 hour ride, that should get rid of the white looking paste, my GPX600R and GPZ400R suffer from this in cold weather.

I did, took it out from 2pm till 5pm today and the temp reached half on the gauge.
Checked the filler cap, and there was no gunge in sight. Smile

Though I was left with one slightly cold moi!

Thanks Guys for the help!
