£1300's worth of 1200 Bandit has started with clutch slip.Most forums say OEM parts are the only way to go-£130 versus £35 is 'considerable' given the bikes value-thoughts ?

Start off by measuring the parts you have and seeing which bits are out of spec.

So many people just change the plates because it's the most common way of fixing their clutch slip (new plates = thicker stack) but half the time there's nothing wrong with the old plates (unless it's been allowed to slip for a long time) it's something else that's worn and the new plates will start slipping again well before their natural lifespan is achieved.

This is good advice. Suzuki supply plates in two different thicknesses so you can mix and match your old clutch with a few new plates to save money.
