suzuki gsx750 f (T-pot) loss of power.

Hi Guys,
I hope someone can point me in the right direction with a potential fix. I have a Suzuki GSX 750 f 1999, tonight with it being a nice night I went for a run out, about 3 miles into my journey i was travelling on dual carriageway at approx 80mph when the bike lost power, the revs fell away, i slowed dropped a gear and still no power, gain i slowed and dropped a gear and this time the bike picked up and accelerated no issues. I continued my ride covering around 50 miles on a various types of road at various speeds without issue. Around 5 miles from home the same issue arose with the same symptoms as outlined above.
I have used the bike around once a week over the winter period so it is not like it has stood untouched for any period, however is probably due a service including air & fuel filter.

Could be your coils on their way out.

Along with a whole host of other things.

Mine did what you described when the coils were getting dodgy voltages (from a fried rectifier).

Possibly either a coil starting to give up the ghost or a fuel related issue (partially blocked fuel cap breather, fuel tap screen/tap/faulty vacuum hose, kinked fuel hose or shit in carbs.

+1 to coils, that was the only thing to brake on my old t- pot

appreciate the response, is there any way to test the coils or is it matter of replacement and see if that resolves it???
i am an oldy but a relatively newbee to motorbikes, but don't mind giving it a go with guidance.

Changed fuel filter, renewed fuel pipes and cleared tank breather. Touching wood at the moment but it would have appeared to have resolved the issues thus far. Thumbs Up

back in the day I was forever fetching these things back into the workshop due to folks leaving a duster under the seat that gets sucked into the airbox..........?
