which transmission oil do i need for my Honda NSR 125 FL (1993 modle) I want to change the oil but have no idea which oil to use, my haynes guide is no good.

dextron II or any high quality oil for automatic car gear box . set the level at 0,9 L and oil change every 2500 miles . your gears will go up or down quicker and more smoothly .

you say for automatic gear boxs, obviously my gearbox is not automatic, will this make any difference?

Take your haynes manual into the shop with you, show them, let them pick one out for you Wink

Gearboxes are very very expensive to fix, regular changes will keep your bike happy Smile if you feel like the gearchanges are getting a little bit stiff then its time for a change,

Auto/manual boxes should not matter, but take your haynes manual, there will be a minimum spec, also a grade (like 80/90) its unlikely you will find any grade lower than the spec you need...

Hi

Honda specify 10W40 gearbox oil for both the NS125 and the NSR125, either SE or SF spec (basically just an old grade normal engine oil). Some 2 stroke engines do specify ATF in the gearbox.
