I'm about to get a flatpack mail order bike but I don't know a lot about assembly. I've heard that putting on the fork backwards is a common mistake, but I'm not entirely sure how to tell back/front (couldn't find the exact answer I needed in previous threads or elsewhere). If I'm correct then for bikes with rim brakes, the right way is to have the rim brakes on the front of the wheel?

Normally yes the brakes are at the front of the fork.

Search google for an image of the bike. Look at image, look at yours. The same? WIN!!
