Just went out for a ride, and as I got back into my housing estate I tried a clutch wheelie and to my delight the front leapt up and shot forward, so I immediately u-turned and headed for the university carpark.

After a few more little ones I managed to get 3 or 4 positive wheelies off! Was chuffed to bits.

I was rather scared though as every time the rear end was snaking around and on a few I ended up going sideways and bailing out... This was probably due to a recent accident involving oil & my tires, and due to the ground being frosty though.

My visor was misted up, I got back home and realised it was frost not mist!

Twisted Evil Laughing Shocked

WOOT! I know how Ill be pulling away from lights in future!

A housing estate is not the place to be pulling wheelies.

Im not against them at all, but there has to be a little responsibility to where you do them, as its antics like this that alienate the public and government against us.

When I say housing estate I didnt mean a thin cul de sac with kids playing football, it was a wide but desolate road with no cars, and I dont really mean Ill wheelie away from all the lights.

Was fun either way =D

Doing wheelies away from every set of traffic lights isn't a good idea, most traffic lights is a good idea though. Razz

Palmerz, you might want to change your sig as it still says you've got an AR50 and you must have something else to be doing power wheelies in 1st and 2nd gear. Laughing

you ride an ar50 mate! no offense but i dont think that is gonna wheely off power, unless some serious leaning of the back is done! anyway either way is fine for wheelying, and four strokes clutch up a lot better than 2 strokes.

A zip50 Can powerwheelie from a standstill, and from 25mph i used to be able to give it a tug on the bars and wheelie through to 45mph, although that was not the power, it was my balance.

Also, whatever bike...
Clutching it up will produce a quicker initial lift but will allow a much more controlled higher ascent.

It also allows you to start the wheely with less revs, meaning that you can keep it up longer if you aren't at the balance point.

So, less controlled and don't go for as long.

Assuming that the SZR in your avatar is what you're riding, big, long wheelies should be pretty easy to master. Enjoy. Very Happy Thumbs Up

I haven't tried a power wheelie, but then again, thats because the er5 is far too much of a lardy bastid to lift itself off the ground without assistance from the clutch. Can manage it slightly with the clutch though, but haven't had the time/right place to do more.

And now its restricted to 33bhp, it'll be harder than ever. Infact, damn near impossible......Sad

Me either, but a little practice on the GPZ yesterday yielded some smirk-worthy results. A little more practice and I may end up not needing the crap front brake Very Happy
