Hello all,

As I was riding home from work today I was thinking about possible projects to do this winter and felt like doing something to the bike. I have been suggested a few strange things thus far, like an engine glow and convex handlebar mirror but maybe there could be more fun to be had?

Anyone else have some practical, weird or wacky ideas?

Combining it with a wad of cash and 30 minutes at your local dealership is one way to end up with a half decent bike Razz

Whatever you do, please dont try and go down the "performance" route. I wasted almost £2000 in pursuit of getting some power from the WeeBR, ended up with 15bhp at the wheel.

How about posting a pic of said CBR so we can see what you've got to work with.

I would save money for a bigger bike. Even if it would be 250cc.

Put it in a jar marked "A2 license".

If you're already 19, get an A2 license.

It's a 2013 model, don't fuck with it and destroy any resale value you have left.

I changed into brighter bulb (not HID) when I had LS125R.
It's cheap and different at night. You can keep the original one for back up.

If anything, invest in a full valet, or some cleaning products and get it immaculate everywhere... then keep washing it every weekend and then coat it in ACF50, keep doing this for as long as you own the machine.

Lube the chain every weekend as well, thoroughly.

This will probably be the most cost effective things you can do with such a bike..

if you want to mod it buy some Chinese fairings for it and do what you like, when it comes to selling whip them off and put the perfect originals back on and chuck the Chinese fairings in with the deal

As has already been said, you're not making it much faster (legally). So get some crash bungs and teach yourself good bike maintenance to take care of it and ensure you get the best possible resale value.

These: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CBR125R-2011-2012-R-G-racing-aero-crash-protectors-black-/251290884680?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item3a821a9a48

and these, if you're feeling like spending more money Razz

Thanks for some of your comments, I'm not hugely fussed about the performance side of things as it already does 20mph more than the national speed limit and usually out accelerates cars at junctions. So that's not an issue! As re-sale value goes i'm doing about 350 miles a week just commuting and I have to legally keep it for two years... You can figure that much out. I do generally clean it most weekends and give it a good head to toe polish and what not:)

I think you will find it does if the speed limit was 50

I come up from Yeovil at 75 down Ilchester straight quite comfortably. Never hit the top speed yet, It's easy to say that it won't but they actually do. Don't say it unless you have tried it yourself, I have heard the old CBR couldn't but I have done it and I know others who do too. Watch the reviews when they test it on tracks, they quite clearly do it!

Its hard not to sound harsh to your comment but I do 75 almost everyday and I have no reason to go any faster than that, even though I know the bike can as i'm not usually at peak HP/ torque when doing 70+ in 6th

National speed limit is 70.

You're claiming it will do 20mph more so that's 90mph. Clapping

Yet you haven't taken it above an apparant 75mph.

Are you retarded?

Best mod I would say is to leave it as it is and start using the cash to build up some really decent bike gear for all eventualities, by the time you have got your bigger bike you'll have all the right gear you wanted.

Bastardise it with an open class 2smoke MX engine, and make a CBR death weapon like CHR1S's. Thumbs Up
