Seems the governments found a load of money in their deep pockets to try fix the roads - will have to see if and how it turns out.

Unfortunantely they aren't even starting the work for another 2 years and don't expect to 'finish' for another 8.... Pale By then we'll probably all be on hover-bikes anyway

By fast lane i presume he means the lane that was going to be 80 but is now remaining at 70. So fastISH lane, rather than fast lane.

They recently dressed our road (with those godawful chippings) and about 10 cars a day use our road so there will be a loose surface for years.

They also filled the potholes on the road ours runs onto. They filled them earlier this week and they're already either sunken or lifted out. I think they filled them with chocolate by mistake.

Keep in mind they are making these promises in the long leadup to an election, with the actual follow through scheduled to take place after the election. Gives them plenty of time to cancel them if they win and knowing full well they will be cancelled by the new lot if they lose.

I thought that one of the first things labour did when they came in was to stop all new road projects which is why the hindhead tunnel was 15 years later than planned.
Not familiar with this particular politician though.
