No way would I spend £££'s on a race pipe like a Jolly Moto that is still only ever going to be optimum for a 125ccc cylinder.

125cc to 180cc is a big difference and this is the problem with a lot of big bore conversions for 125cc bikes, in that no one makes a specific exhaust that is designed for a 180cc cylinder. You can use the std or other aftermarket pipes with such kits, but you will never get the top end power that the kit is capable of, unless you have a pipe designed for the 180cc conversion and the state of tune it is in.

You might as well use a std NSR pipe as pay loads of money for a performance pipe that still won't suit the engine optimally. A modified std pipe with more volume or a re-worked pipe off a 200cc 2stroke bike might work well with some modifying to fit your bike etc. Also a pipe that suits a YPVS350 motor (175cc cylinder capacity) might also work if modified to fit, better than a std NSR pipe.

But basically to get the maximum potential from your 180cc kit, there are no easy options exhaust wise, and custom made is probably the ideal solution if expensive. Running the 180cc conversion if it doesn't cause other reliability issues (they often can) will at best give you a fair gain in midrange power and a loss of top end power as is usual with many big bore 125 conversions.

You may be able to make some sort of scooter racing exhaust work but I would expect to faff around a bit getting it to fit and run nicely. I say this as I have seen exhausts made specifically for 172cc kits in the past which would bring you close enough to the volume.

Maybe ask Malossi what their suggestion is? They must have made the kit with an exhaust of some sort in mind?
