A fun, albeit pointless challenge! Whats the fastest vehicle you can find for £2500?

Rules
- Must have wheels
- No rockets, explosives
- Must be a car or motorbike, no aircraft, ejector seats, reentry vehicles, parking on a gas tank and igniting, rolling out the back of a C130 etc
- Test is at 10 feet above sea level on a runway
- Must be road legal. Doesn't need to have an MOT, but should be able to get one.
- Can be modified
- We need a link to it

Vmax, though you can propose an acceleration vehicle too if you like.

well to get things rolling

hyabusa that may not sell for its asking price start

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUZUKI-GSXR-1300-HYABUSA-/261257427488?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item3cd427fa20

with a top speed of 188 to 194 mph

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_Hayabusa

and just in case the hyabusa goes for more, a cbr1100 blackbird which you can get for £1500, and will do 180mph

2010 YZF R125, £2300

Universal electric supercharger, £126 from Hong Kong - seems legit.

Get it to 300mph easy.

This thing managed 140+mph with a highly tuned 50cc engine.

https://www.craigvetter.com/images/Last%20Vetter%20Fairing/2008%20Helix%20project/Helix-P-35/Buddfab-streamliner-95-web.jpg

So something similar with a turo busa engine would result in a vmax of about 350mph (measured at time of death).
Getting it all together for 2.5k is going to require you to do all the work yourself. Though you couldn't manage it i don't doubt there are people who can, and there was no manpower restrictions in the requirements Laughing

You could probably get a Hayabusa for that much. Doubt you'll get a faster car for the cash.

This mystical creature. Apparently it goes faster as you twist the throttle which someone mentioned a fair few years ago on this very forum.

Only thing faster is Chuck Norris himself but no one is yet to provide evidence as no apparatus on earth can calculate the pure velocity.

Hayabusa, hopefully enough left over for some brackets and a load of fibre glass stuff to make some big aerodynamic fairings.

Probably only about as fast as a GPZ500.

'99 'busa, recently sold on uk 'busa forum:

Quote:
I am selling my busa.
It is a 99 model 'full power' lol.gif mh (3).gif

It is a great bike just not finished in places, I bought it as a cat c bike and have rebuilt it. The only damage really was fairing! I stripped it down and have put loads of new parts on. It has mct suspension all round, full titanium akrapovic exhaust, Goodrich lines, a gen 2 rear end in black, passo leavers, bendix pads.
This would make a great busa for someone who has time to make it perfect and wants a cheap bike or a great start to a race project

Price £1900

& used nitrous kit from wherever. That'll get you over 200mph

A ticket on the eurostar costs under £20 if you book early enough and does 186mph.

However. In all seriousness, for £2,500. Th fastest you're realistically going to get is a ZZR1100 (and tou'd get a NICE one for that) OR a CBR1100 blackbird.

I remember performace bikes magazine getting 200mph out of a normally aspirated blackbird. One of the only road-legal, carbed bikes to do so as I recall. You can get a CBR1100 for £1500 or so.

SO I'm going for this one, which is tidy:
THIS Plus a stage 2 kit from holeshot racing.

I reckon this would be good fo an absolutely genuine 185+mph but I don't think 200 is possible for £2.5k

ZX12 is quicker than a Blackbird.

On par with the Hayabusa.

So. You have found a decent one for sale for £2.5k?

Decent cosmetics aren't required for speed. The £1900 bike I posted up above is in the same state of tune as mine was when it cracked 200mph N/A.

PB can suck my ballz. They never got a NA carbed Blackbird to 200mph on the flat. No way hoe say...

If you walked in with 2.5k you would have it, the blackbird is an awesome bike, great all rounder and would be my sensible choice if I had to pick between the two, it had more pull up to about 150.

However, past that the zx is a different league, it will continue to pull like a train all the way to where your nerve takes you, I would say its a clear 15mph + more capable than the 'bird (which if lucky has a max of about 185 if set up right, about 30hp less than the zx but some of the best aerodynamics ever designed for a bike, it has the drag coefficient of a 250 gp bike!)

Right, bear with me here.

Lexus GS300 - £795
+1UZ-FE V8 - £950
+ Supercharger off an AJ-V8* - £750

Total= £2,495

Some assembly required. Will probably go fast. Probably.

*Yes I know that's an AJ-V6 blower that's been listed incorrectly as a V8 one shut up just let me have this okay.
