My new bikes arrived! Will post pictures when i get home!

The first is a 1983 Honda CB 125 TDE (33,000 miles). This is the bike which im going to learn to ride on and get as many miles in over the winter! It is in need of a good clean cause it just spent 300 miles on a trailor! Rear number plate is cracked (the chap is posting up a new one) and the tax disc flew off on the way up (got receipt for tax though it costs about a tenner to get it replaced... might aswell get it taxed again only £15). Mechanically sound - just in need of a deep clean!

Cost £500

The second is my baby... a 2000 Suzuki GSX-R 600 (13,000 miles). Again in need of a good clean because it also spent 300 miles on a trailor! Micron race can (which sounds great) - Dynoed (im gonna frame my graph!) to 100bhp Laughing In a good condition apart from a couple of scratches. The scratches on the L/h and R/h fairing are actually just damage to the vinyle stickers because the crash bungs saved it. The only other scratch is on the seat cowl at the back which im just going to leave for the time being! Its got a Meta Alarm/Immobiliser which is rather noisy and will soon be fitted with a tracker Mr. Green

Cost £2,250

The owners of CB125's that I've spoken to recommend them heartily, very fast for an old 4t 125. Indeed one of these people (Hawkeye on here) went so far as to manage to blow his up by ragging it, which is an achievement for a Honda. Smile I just wish I'd had the common sense to buy one rather than what I did buy.

Sounds like you have a pair of nice bikes there. Lucky you.

Is the Gsxr a K1, or the older Srad?

I'd recommned you spend a lot of time on the 125 before you step up.

The Gixer's power WILL amaze/scare you!!! But if you take it easy and use your head you should be ok. Thumbs Up Respect it!

Which is why you can attach files onto your posts, so long as they are less than 256kb. Wink

Agreed. Jumping from a 14bhp 125 to that monster of a 600 will be a hell of a leap.

Enjoy the learning phase. Remember, if you go down in this nasty wintery weather, dont let it put you off riding.

Take it easy dudes and get some pics posted! Mr. Green

Argh!!! Evil or Very Mad Wink

What you using the bikes to secure them at night? Got a garage? Or are you just relying on that cable lock?

You are suffocating the bikes like that. They need to breathe. Wink

As one new rider, who happened to have a Gixer Srad600 (same as yours, as his first bike) said:

"It’s an excellent bike, but mess up and it'll bite"

I never forgot that. He sincerely meant it. Bear it in mind.

As has been said before: use your head and you should be ok.

The garage/workshop has yet to arrive (will be start of next week im told), my garden has an 8 ft high fence around it and more importantly at the moment it is impossible* to get the bikes in and out of the garden.

*I had to take a panel off the fence off just to do it, even then it was a 3/4 man job! There is currently construction equipment blocking the way even if someone managed to take a fence panel off unnoticed. Oh and as of yet only this forum know I have a bike - Ive not been in and out on them yet Very Happy

The bike will be restricted till I feel the need for more power - 33bhp all the way! lol

Even then saying that the CB125 already feels ridiculousley underpowered, as did the CG125s on my CBT - Thats what you get I suppose if your on a wee bike, weigh 15+ stone and share the aerodynamic properties of a brick shithouse.

Tis all good though - im a happy man Very Happy

edit - L337 coding skills.. or not as the case may be

Hell, if you can get a second hand set of restrictors and your insurance company doesn't require proof, give me a shout and I'll help you fit em Smile

Although, its an incredibly easy process

Cheers! Mr. Green

Though if they don't want proof then I just might have 300/400 miles or so easy unrestricted riding and take it from there.

I'm "unaerodynamic" so ill just put that down on my insurance as restrictor fitted Wink
