 |
|
I'm finding my arse slipping down a lot on my seat. I'm quite tall, naturally seat a little bank from tank. However when braking hard, I find I slip down the seat and forward towards the tank. Most of the time it's not too bad. But when I've got my waterproof over trousers, it's terrible.
Had light rain this morning, but waterproofs on as I knew they'd be loads of spray. But because the seat and my arse were still quite dry I was slipping and sliding all over the shot, no matter how hard I gripped tank with legs. Really bad for balance and control, kept making me want to clutch bars and generally tensed me all up.
So, is there something I can wrap over the seat to give more grip? Or even a replacement seat cover I guess? Spotted them Triboseat things, but they seem to only be for the pillion rear part of the seat. ____________________ Beginner Biker Adventures Blog

It'll always be worse when in waterproofs, a little slippery is better than hold fast for general riding and cornering. ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

firstly stop polishing the seat when you wash the bike
secondly just grip with your legs. if you find you're having trouble with that get some stompgrip and put that on your tank.
you want to be able to move around on your seat so putting grip on that would be a bad idea but giving your legs a little more grip to hold on is never a bad thing ____________________ CBR954RR - Daily toy

I used the anti slip mat stuff to cover the pillion half of the seat on an er5. Worked well
Much cheaper to buy your own bit of non-slip stuff and do it yourself. Can be bought for a couple of quid in the cheap-style shops near you (Home-Bargains, Poundland etc)
Think we bought ours in Lidl, when they had some in. |

You also get tank gripper pads which add extra friction.
However, they may tear waterproofs up a bit, as they're really designed for leather.
(Though, on the road, I'd be tempted to just take it a bit more gently in the wet ). |

Grow a beer belly and breathe out. That way your arse touches the back of the seat whilst the belly hugs the tank. Job jobbed - oh and it's fun growing one ____________________ Gone: Haotian HT125-8 / Yamaha YZF 600R Thundercat / Kawasaki ZX9R C2
