Rode up to a crossing and saw a lollypop man trying to jump into the road without much success so I stopped for him. Looked left and saw Steven Gerrard cross with his kids, I nodded and he nodded back. I don't even like football so I'm guessing a drunk football fan somewhere is pissing on Marquez's car tyre.

Thinking back on it I have to admit his nod was a 'oh shit he recognises me, hope he doesn't follow me.' type.

How about you lot?

Call me boring, but I don't really care about famous people all that much.

Had a chat with Rob Kazinsky (played Sean Slater) at a set of traffic lights at Picadilly Circus, we were both on our motorbikes and it was raining slightly.

Quite romantic really, we shook hands and parted our ways.

Then there was that time I had a photoshoot with Abi Titmuss...

Unless it was a famous person I genuinely respect, then I wouldn't bother.

I've met many famous people. Mostly riders at the bikeshow in Birmingham.

It's the not knowing what to say to them, without looking at tit, that is the problem for me.

But I find them approachable and friendly on the whole.

The best one I found to speak to was Danny John Jules (the cat from red dwarf). Me and my brother were looking at a bike on the powerbronze stand. and he started speaking to us. Shocked

A couple of photo's later and we went our separate ways.
Top guy.

Many years ago when they were still filming the earlier series of Red Dwarf (1993 or so), they were doing some work at the Cardington aircraft hangars in Bedfordshire, all of the Red Dwarf cast minus Craig Charles I think, popped into my mate's (his parents) pub which is 10 minutes down the road from it for a few drinks. They were quite friendly and didn't mind chatting with people and having pictures taken.

I think it's pretty cool when famous people don't mind stopping and having a chat, but it must be pretty annoying getting shouted at in the street.

I'd give it a go for a year or so, be stupidly famous and rich and get yelled at daily. Can't see the issue Laughing

Paddy, He'll (Danny) probably be there again this year. It's just catching him at the right time.

There is only one celeb I find interesting. Some say that he was born with both sets of sexual organs, and that he is immune to STDs. All I know is I still wouldnt be that bothered if I saw him as I would assume he is an impostor.

I wouldn't acknowledge a 'famous' person any more or less than anyone else.

The Hairy bikers were in Faversham a few years ago, I stopped my van and let them over the bridge by the brewery even though I had right of way. Miserable twats didn't even nod! Middle Finger

I was going to speak to Patrcik Moore once, but thought it would be impolite at such an early hour, about 06:30am on a station platform.

erm, otherwise, tend to take no notice

I couldn't agree more. My boss got given some VIP tickets to some sort of charity bash where there were a load of famous people and he took me along. Some arrogant cunt came and sat next to me obviously waiting for me to go 'Oh my God it's whoeverthefuck!' I simply ignored him and continued to shovel free grub and free pints of Guinness down my gob. Clearly embarassed at being found less interesting than a plate of nibbles he moped off in a huff.

In my bosses car on the way home he asked me what I'd talked to Prince Andrew about... not a single fuck given Laughing

Around 2008? I was working at a restaurant they came to for one of their episodes.

Does stalking and then photo-bombing count as "photoshoot with" these days. Smile

I'd like to think I'd be normal around people who are more well known than most, but I once met Supergran and went batshit mental. I was seven though.

Couple of years ago, I was on the opposite side of the road to Debenhams in Guildford. A lass was walking along the pavement which goes in front of the underground car park entrance. She was clearly there first. Nigel Havers drove a soft-top out of the car park at some speed and slammed his brakes on, skidding just short of this lass. He proceeded to berate her for not looking where she was walking.
He was completely in the wrong, but it didn't stop him going mental at a stranger he'd nearly knocked down.

Some months later he was I'm a Celeb Get Me Out. At the start people were predicting he'd do well. I put a £10 bet on that he'd be the first to walk out of the show. Purely on the basis of what happened at the car park. Netted £140 Smile

Nope, I was living on location in a South London country home for 5 days on a TV production shoot as a stills photographer and she was the presenter! I had to set up a shoot as part of the set design for the studio shoot - sadly, with clothes on. Did get a kiss and a hug though and managed to cop a feel Thumbs Up

On the way back from the Scarborough Gold Cup races this Sunday, Sid and I found ourselves next to Evander Holyfield in a Costa caff in a service station on the M1.

Not only did we not nod, I really wanted Sid to surreptitiously follow Mr Holyfield into the gents to "have a look" and report back. He refused. I tried the, "They say at the end of your life you won't regret the things you did, but the things you didn't" argument, but he wasn't having it.

Fail.

Quite regularly have people in the public eye in the shop.
Over hte past few years had:-
Mark Benton (Actor)
Vernon Kaye & His Missus
Many of the Welsh Rugby team (past and present)
A Poet Laureate
MPs

Mostly, they jsut want to get on with their shopping and back to normal life, without the fuss.

Yes the appreciate that thay are recognised, but I just tend to treat them like any other customer, Hiya mate, can I help you? that'll be £17.45 please.
Bye

I get the inpression that they like the fact they can be treated without the whole OOoooohhhh, your XXXXX off the telly, hero worship.

Unless they are Katy Price, in which case I'd throw her skanky arse out before she picked up a basket

Smile
