Bored out of my skull here , so I am thinking about/planning next years trips.
As with all my trips there is no other reason than because I want to!

I am toying with the idea of a little trip around Lincolnshire on the Superdream at a slower pace than my normal trips (not that they are that fast).I was thinking about the A15 north of Lincoln as it`s the longest straight bit of road in the UK, and the Humber Bridge, just so I can say I`ve been there.

So BCF what else is worth a look in the lovely county of Lincolnshire?
Does anyone know of any reasonable campsites or B&B`s
I seek your advice oh mighty BCF

ps: I went to Grimsby when I was a kid and it was smelly Laughing

IIRC lots of speed cameras. It's straight but up and down so you can lose oncoming traffic in the dips. So making overtaking not as straightforward as you think.

There's the Battle of Britain flight at RAF Coningsby. If you can get mid-week then likely to find them in the hanger (weekends they tend to be at shows).

Humber bridge worth while if you have not been. Big viewing car park on north bank and you can drive down to the waterline by the black windmill to get underneath the roadway (arty camera shots with bike).

Checkout the dambusters museum at RAF Scampton https://www.raf.mod.uk/rafscampton/aboutus/rafscamptonmuseum.cfm
It's strictly pre-book, and as its an active RAF base ID must be produced
It might not be "Lincolnshire" but if military aircraft & history interest you, why not book a "Hanger tour" to see the XH558 Vulcan bomber at Doncaster airport https://www.vulcantothesky.org/appearances/aircraft-tours.html

From Caenby Corner North A15, loads of speed cameras. Probably one of the most boring roads in the country (sorry).
Cadwell park a good idea.
Humber Bridge good on a clear day.
Goodish road north out of Market Rasen, sorry cant remember road number.
Bikers meet in the area, Willingham(?) woods.

There's camping at Woodhall Spa, which is well located to get to good bits of Lincolnshire. I'm not from there but have toured there a few times. From memory there's Revesby Bends, Caistor High Street, Willingham Woods. The A15 is terminally dull.

A15 from sleaford to Bourne is a nice bit of road, then Bourne to colsterworth on the A151, out to Melton Mowbray on the same road and back up to Grantham from there is a fair run out.

If you go to Grantham, head to Watkins bakers on the high street for a triple egg, bacon n sausage bap.

Lovely.

Good call. For a cheaper and less populated time, Cadwell Park on any weekend where there's club racing on! The racing can be just as tight, but without the huge crowds!

Further to my earlier post.
If you want to do the Humber Bridge then maybe combine with a visit to Barton Bike Night on Wednesday 2nd July 2014. Bike night from about 5pm to 10pm (but pubs may have bands on until later?). Barton being on the south bank, 1st exit after going over bridge (so that'd be last one going north before bridge then). Bike are free on the bridge tolls btw.

The vintage racing meets can be fun.
Turn up on the friday evening along with the racers & dodge the guy collecting the gate money, (he dont start collecting £'s until saturday) pitch your tent along side the racers vans, head down to the club bar on site for food beer & the craic. Then fri/sat/sun watch the racing FOC

The Bridge is amazing, having been born and brought up in Hull I've been plenty of times.

A testament to the power we have as humans, every time I see it I just think to myself 'christ, we pulled the rocks out of the ground and made that'. Awesome. I'd love to go and see something like the Golden Gate Bridge as well.

QE2 is nothing in comparison. Forth Road Bridge is reasonably similar.

Had a look at both but only ridden on the Forth.
