Please recommend me a bike camera

I'd like to buy a bike camera. I only travel 7 miles each way so it doesn't have to run off the bike battery but ideally last a few days without having to be charged. It needs to have good quality in the night. Don't mind if it's helmet mounted or bike mounted just easy to install. Must have good storage and be easy to get files off. Do t really have a budget but would be willing to go 2nd if have to. What do you guys recommend? Thanks

I recommend hitting youtube for reviews, "Techmoan" does some really thorough impartial reviews and does like the cheaper cameras.

read the reviews the tcl seems good but out of stock. not sure if its bit big in the shape. did look at the sj1000 https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.Xsj1000&_nkw=sj1000&_sacat=0&_from=R40 seems ok but the dark time footage is brilliant. need something more for the dark. anyone had one of the above with dark footage they could show?

I am in exactly the same position - looking for a helmet camera. Having been hit by a drunk driver earlier this year, I think it is absolutely necessary to have one for insurance purposes.

My problem with the vast majority of available cameras, TCL SVC200 included, is that mounting system makes them look absolutely ugly and out of place on a helmet. I can't imagine riding through traffic with a brick of GoPro on top of my head, or even a bulky twisty mounting bracket for the TCL one.

So far the only camera that is at least half decent is Contour Roam 2, but the company making them is out of business, so no support or warranty.

I can't understand, if they can put a compact and nice camera in a phone, why can't they make a small and inconspicuous one for a helmet.

It has a loop recording mode as well. Battery life is poor but I have five action cams from £8 to £150 and they all have shit battery lives. I use this one though all day riding around for my job then just give it a boost charge when I visit my office and a proper charge when I get home.

If your wanting really good quality video you would have to look at GoPro or a Drift or A Rollei HD, I have a Rollie HD Pro but I dont use it as it makes Mov files and theyre a pain to convert so I can watch them.

I dont think for day to day use its worth getting high end cameras. Theyre only worth it if your doing track days or off roading ir maybe that grand tour round the Alps.
