So I had my first crash today. I feel rather indestructible!

Head on Collison with a car.

Paint diagram will follow, but I can't move very well to get the laptop.

Coming down the road the traffic was heavy and at a stop. The lights were green so I filtered through. And a car turned right, Her light was green to but I had right of way. I hid the near side if her car the bike went under and I went over the bonnet and through the windscreen.

She admired full responsibility. And there where three witness to say that I was not at fault. The attending officer cane to hospital, to get my statement and said the woman was charged with dangerous driving.

The bike has seen better days yet to assess the damage. I'm going to get a garage to pick it up tomorrow.

I was going to go to winns tomorrow right.Move?

Thanks Brendan.

I paid £120 to get it recovered. I plan on claiming that back

I almost enjoy the post crash euphoria when you realise you are still alive and you watch the bruises get bigger and bigger. My advice do not go to winns tomorrow.

Your words are a bit jumbly, take tomorrow off work as you are going to stiffen up. What is the extent of your injuries?

Then the adrenaline wears off, you start to feel pain, try to stand up to shout at the dizzy bint who's just nearly killed you. but you leg doesn't seem to be helping you up, you look down and see a mangled twisted mess, and scream like a little girl, then lay back down quietly and wait for the ambulance to arrive for some good old happy pills....

Day off or two mate, take it easy...

Quite similar to my only accident so far and was the same situation except i went up and over rather than into the windowscreen - totally relaxed and chilled out immediately after i came to, but the following two or three days i was quite spaced out and stressed on and off.

Sounds like the best possible outcome in terms of witnesses, police and her being clearly to blame etc, consider yourself lucky Thumbs Up

I was just thinking about all the advice given on Herr about witnesses, statements and tried to do everything right.

I walked to the ambulance and had no pain relif, but the paramedics forced me to get in a neck brace because of me going through the windscreen. I felt fine other than my right leg, but now things I never even knew I had are starting to hurt.

I feel lucky with regards to the outcome.

I was the same, seems extremely stupid in retrospect, but once i came around got up and [luckily she'd hung around] went and photographed the car/bike/driver/scene etc from various angles.

We settled outside insurance thankfully in the end, although your situation sounds fairly clear cut in terms of blame and admitting guilt etc. Expect a lot of bruises and aches though, the paramedics are concerned with preventing and finding serious injury, anything beyond that you're going have to put up with being uncomfortable as fuck at home Silence

My friends son crashed his car on Saturday night, he wont be walking again and looks like he wont be able to use arms either. His two friends who were in the car are ok, he hasn't any other injuries except that he has broken C5-C7 in his neck. I know it is a cliché, but he is a really nice lad coming from a very nice family. Poor lad is only 19 years old and just starting out in life.

I had a few close frends that was involved in a similar accident at the same age. One dead, one paralysed and three seriously injured.

It kind of highlighted to me the whole stigma of 'motorcycles are dangerous' being a load of shit. I was one of about 10 people with bikes in my final school year of over 300.

In the following two years, one of them died on a bike and seven in cars.

Parents are worried about the wrong things.

I bet you're hurting a thousand times worse when you wake up this morning. Razz

After my last crash, I didn't feel too bad, until I went to get out of bed the next morning and realised that I couldn't move because of the pain. I couldn't even life my head off the pillow. Laughing

If you need to take time off work, then do so. Even if you don't get sick pay at the place you work, you'll be able to claim for loss of earnings from her insurance.

Good to read that you're not too badly hurt, sounds like you've had a bit of a lucky escape, with regards to injuries. Thumbs Up

Shame you weren't wearing a go pro or similar device, as it would have made for great viewing by the sounds of it. Cool Thumbs Up

You're recovering from a major impact! Do you really think this was the proper time for a wank?

It sounds like the parents might have a better grasp of stats. From your sample, the bikers were five times more likely to be killed (1/10 vs 7/290), unless I'm missing something. I wasn't very good at stats either...

They're usually decent people, at the scene. Give her a couple of days though, then you'll turn into a kitten killing speeding biker, and it'll all be your fault.

Could she change her mind even if she admitted 100% fault to the officer and was charge with dangerous driving on scene?

I've attempted to get up, but it's not happening. The pain is so much worse now.

I think my bike is a write off. Bent folk, major oil leak, brake caliper is smashed and stopping the front wheel from turning. I'd be lucky to get £500 right?
