I confess to being one of the organisers of this hugely successful event Wink
But that doesn't alter the fact it's a great day out and we have a fantastic line up of entries this year - for both Run the Hill and our special Happy Hour time.
A real family show where you can be the star of the show (well, not this year as we've sold out of Run the Hill places) but you can still come along and enjoy the day. Book tickets online and save 20% on the Gate price - adults only £12 and Under 16's go FREE
Check out the website https://www.prescottbikefestival.co.uk, follow us on Facebook and if you do that sort of thing, you can also follow us on Twitter @bike_fest.
We've partnered with Mortons for this year so expect to see some great competitions to win tickets - coming soon in the bike mags.
And last - organise a group ride out to the Festival and get one free ticket in ten. Just PM me for details.
Oh - and all the proceeds go to the Blood Bike charities.
See you in April.

So the money goes in some Mitty's tank, so that he can taxi bits of paper around while making "Nee-naw, nee-naw" sounds inside his helmet and fantasising that he's a paramedic?

You were doing pretty well up to there, mind. Thumbs Up

Thanks for the positive feedback until you got to the Mitty bit - of course that Mitty will be the specialist trained, advanced qualified guy (or gal) delivering the blood you need when (heaven forbid) you prang it one dark, lonely night - or your pathology samples, or MRI scans or, when you're precious little baby is born prematurely and needs human milk just to survive. At all hours of the night, 365 days a year - freely giving up his time to help save someone's life - maybe even yours.
Humbled yet?
Very Happy

Not especially, no. It's a jolly and the vast majority of what "blood" bikes do could be (and often is) done by Terry Taxi. Do try to get over yourself.

Of course you're right..... except (as an example) for the taxi company that failed to turn up to collect a spinal fluid sample that was going to be tested for suspected meningitis in a child. The reason? The taxi was picking up a couple at the airport and their flight was late.

Would I rather a taxi be entrusted with potentialy life saving cargo - or a committed volunteer?. I know what I'd chose.

Always easy to belittle the efforts of others. Shame you see it like that - but hey, we're all entitled to our opinions.
