Please bear with me as I guess similar questions have been asked to death, but maybe not this one.

I've passed my test a couple of months ago so need to move up from a trusty YBR125, and I've seen various options at different ages / prices and seen / sat on them all.

Yamaha XJ6 Diversion F (4k miles) - 62 plate / £4300
Yamaha Fazer 06MY (16k miles) - 04 plate / £2000
Kawasaki GPZ500s (42k miles) - 97 plate / £800

I've done 8,000 miles on my YBR in 12 months, and will continue to do the same (or a bit more Very Happy )

The question is for a first bigger bike (used for commuting) which bracket should I focus my attention, as the bike will be stored outside under a bike cover only?

Any help / suggestions appreciated as I don't want to hemorrhage money as I'm still learning the mechanics.

Cheers guys, it would be chained to an anchor point on a driveway so (hopefully) relatively secure.

I've wondered about shaft drive before but never really known about them too much (apart form a BMW 800), and I assume for Rogers cryptic pictures a Phaser would be his recommendation

Out of those three, with your situation, that's the one I'd be inclined towards.

I liked my GPZ500S, but it was extremely low mileage and yet still had some issues. I'd try and get that Fazer for less though: that's dealer asking price for a 10 year old example.

Plenty of other bikes out there though.

I thought it was "stun" till I checked the file name.

Not the same but I went from the 125 to a Div F and am loving it but that was because it was in stock at the dealership and I had itchy fingers after passing my test (and the Suzuki SV650 felt shit).
