I've just watched this video about the Royal Enfield 535 Continental GT and noticed when he revs the bike the spring on the shock bounces around. Should it do this? I thought the spring should be tight to start with and would then compress more as required.

Would there not be more give in the suspension? Or is that the reason it's like that in the first place? Ie Comfortable ride Vs stiffer for faster cornering?

It's not just singles, mate at work had a Triumph T140 Bonnie, used to fascinate me to watch it "walking" across the yard on it's centrestand when he left it warming up while he put his lid on at the end of a shift.

Yep - I had a T140E.
I was just sitting at a set of traffic lights with the bike ticking over and the glass quite happily shook out of the mirror.

Very vibes, so torque. My Enfield rocks noticeably on the suspension as I unleash its mighty 20-something horsepower from a stop.

I think the spring is simply vibrating in harmony with the varying engine vibrations. A bit like the shockwave travelling back and forth along a Slinky.

On another video the same bike is seen on a Dyno, but no horspower or torque gains are shown...
