Hi,
I just got my Airsal 50cc kit for my derbi and in the manual that comes with it it says to retard/delay the timing by "0.5", I'm guessing 0.5 seconds? It isn't very clear..

Why would you have to to this? what advantage do you get from retarding it? run cooler?

I just fitted the same kit on my mate's bike and it seems to run fine with the standard timing.

Replies are appreciated. Thumbs Up

Does it have adjustable timing/inner rotor kit or something?

Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

anyway, 0.5 refers to 0.5 degrees of crank rotation. retarding timing is moving closer to TDC, advancing is away from TDC

cant see it making much of a difference, if you even can adjust it. you say 50cc kit, are you just doing a top end rebuild?
