Today I finished a twenty hour trip in the north sea in a 30 odd foot fishing boat. Fuck my old boots if that wasn't the worst seas I've ever been out in. Reason for posting? I'm alive and I can! Laughing

Stood at the wheelhouse door facing the stern looking down, then looking up after an almighty crash with water cascading over the bow, wheelhouse and decks for about 12 hours straight was a new experience.

Anyway, carry on.[/quote]

Been working with and on boats for a couple of years now and love it but that was a first for me. Just been fortunate enough to be given this job which luckily the pay reflects the "downsides." Im still doing my old job too though so this summer should see me debt free and have a couple of quid in the bank too. So fuck it, bring it on!

You're lucky. Paid to do an exciting job, outdoors, without some pretentious, pompous, disingenuous prick as your boss.
Sometimes I wish I'd joined the army full time rather than the path I've taken now.

Welcome to the North Sea Laughing

Nice one mate, really really pleased to hear things are ticking along well for you.

Make sure you're attached to something in those stormy seas, else you'll be washed overboard.

i hate boats now, i did a week back in nz on a cray boat (pulling in crayfish pots)
sweet if you like crayfish i suppose, but i hate everything that comes from the sea, and after that week, everything that goes in the sea as well,
i found it so tiring trying not to spew up
