I purchased these from aldi a few month ago for the grand price of £39.99. I was a bit skeptical at first mainly as the kevlar is not woven throughout the jeans but is only in critical places.
They come with knee armour which at first feels in completely the wrong place but once on the bike it sits perfectly.
They are very very comfy but off the bike they are a little long, on the bike in a crouch position they are perfect.

Today I managed to crash (not my bike thankfully) test them, a low side at 30mph left me skidding along on my right side and then my arse.
The jeans held up very well indeed, only one seam has burst, the denim only just wore through to the kevlar and I was left unmarked. They held up better than my Hood jeans did at a much lower speed crash.

Would I buy them again? Hell yes. I would rate them 8/10. The only downside to me is they faded after 1 wash and the stitching on the hem of the bottom of one leg was poor.
I'm glad I bought 2 pairs!!

I'm glad they held up and stopped you taking a sore one ....

...because they look like something a middle aged woman called Beverly would wear. In 1984. After all her other cheap jeans had been destroyed in a fire.

To be fair, almost all kevlar jeans look like that. It's those stupid seams on the front as much as the hellish looking (but functional) cut.

To get decent looking ones like the Next Gen Dragging' ones you have to get stump up a fair wad.

I've got a pair from last year that I wear from time to time, usually if I'm on a short trip and not using motorways (so keeping the speed down then) however I have worn them to work a few times

I'd buy a pair if they didn't all look rubbish in comparison to normal jeans, kinda defeats the point for me. Why buy casual jeans if you're not going to wear them in casual places? I may as well just wear proper motorcycle trousers.

1. Mates (now even more) fucked zxr400. Sister in law has blown her engine up so I want the engine out of this one. The tyres on it were squarer than the jaw of David Couthard and Sophie Ellis Bextors love child. Took it for a test on his drive and threw it down the road being dickish with the front brake and trying to turn at the same time.

2. They aren't my pictures but are the same jeans. Though it is only in the last week I have bought an iron after the ex took the last one 3 years ago.

I dont think the aldi ones look that bad. Bit long and wide at the bottom but otherwise ok for knocking about. A lot cooler than wearing my trousers at the min. Glad to hear they hold up in an off, the mrs will be pleased 👍

Can you buy these any time or do they only come in stock for promotions?

All I ever wear is kevlar jeans. Got mine on eBay for 60ish. Not crash tested though thankfully. Nothing wrong with aldi gear, i use boots from there almost daily and use camping stuff from there a lot too.

thanks for this - i've bought a pair of them and as my bikes not on the road yet, i'm yet to use them. although i did try them on and sit on the bike and can agree with what you say about them being a bit long off the bike - but good on the bike.

more to the point, Glad you are okay Thumbs Up

Sid got a pair but they remain unworn for the above reasons.

However, I am quite handy with a sewing machine so I will "tailor" them to be a bit less Beverley. The challenge will be sewing through the Kevlar. I will use a special leather needle and Kevlar thread, so watch this space.

If I'm successful I will advertise my sewing skills here along the lines of

"Are your Kevlar jeans just too Beverley? Do they make your usually pert bottom look like a pair of over-ripe melons? Do they make your legs look like you have elephantiasis? Too much (strictly) ballroom?

Don't worry, your problems can be solved by Tracey and her magic machine. For just £99* your bargain Aldi jeans can be tailored to your unique shape. Your physical imperfections will disappear too!

So don't put up with looking like a tramp who's pulled his jeans out of the bin, like Fisty. Ring Tracey......now"

Crying or Very sad

I make em look better! Update, finished sewing, they're dead straightforward to alter. Needle goes through the Kevlar easily, but it's very difficult to cut the excess Kevlar away. Which is just as well really.

I only wear my jeans for my commute at max 40 mph or popping around town.

If I'm going somewhere I know it'll be faster, either the textiles go on or I'll be in the leathers.

I have a pair and for the price they are spot on for plebbin around the doors at lower speeds... I did however buy some more armour to put in the hip pockets (£10 e-bay)...
the length is adjusted by wearing them tucked up inside using elastic bands.
