Erm, aren't the XR/CRF400s fairly modern?...4-stroke motocrossers are quite recent, and therefore I think that you'll be hard-pushed to find one for anything near £500...

...a decent condition, 2-stroke 250 should be acquirable for around a grand, maybe...I quite fancy the Yamaha TTR250 - a 4-stroke 250 motocrosser, which can be tuned to power-wheelie in 4th...Smile

They have grown in popularity a lot recently, but the XR series (4 stroke) has been around for years, along with the XT yams

Well...they're mainly being developed further nowadays 'cos of the emissions jazz...2-smokers will be history soon...

500cc GP has allready died Crying or Very sad and the rest will follow soone enough Crying or Very sad

Many places are making it much harder to produce new 2 strokes, so I don't expect many manufactures will be going to the expense Sad

yeh i can see 2 strokes slowly phasing out. but by then ill have a nice smooth 4 stroke.....
