I have a removed my hugger that was in a sorry state. Cleaned it up to repair and spray but I found it actually looks like a carbon fibre part that has been sprayed. There are a few cracks in the top clear laminate.

I want to fill these cracks so need something I can sand down after. I didnt want to use filler because I think thats too brittle?

Also on one of the mount points where there is a crack I wanted to build up the bottom of the panel and level it so that when I do fix it back down it wont put any uneven pressure on the panel and cause another crack.

Not sure what is the right sort of adhesive to go for. Any suggestions would be helpful.
cheers

An epoxy, like Araldite, will work fine on CF. If you get the 5 minute cure stuff you won't be waiting 24 hours for it to go off either.

It can be rubbed back and primed/sprayed with no issues.

You sure its carbon or plastic done to look like carbon? If its plastic weld it wit a soldering iron & some black cable ties, sand, paint.

Ideally you want something that will bond/weld the material. Anything that works by sticking one part to the other will be subject to vibration and crud and will eventually part.

No, that's araldite and will only stick the bits together. You need something like what polystyrene glue does to plastic, melts it so two pieces become one.

I have no idea if the material you're working with can be melted like that. Thus "ideally".
