I wouldn't normally do this, but my friend had her Gz125 stolen today. It's pale blue and looking worse for wear (rusty, tyres shagged etc but still a runner). I'm yet to find out the reg and details, I think it's a 98 or 97 model, will update as I get them. I just want to get the word out asap. Anyone hear anything please let me know. Thanks

Edit: Reg is V191 EWE. Distinctive plate. Hope it gets found soon.

I'm currently about six miles away in Wakefield and will be travelling around west and South Yorkshire later today. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Wouldn't make a difference if you did call them, they're all in Hertfordshire at Sir Cliffs.

My bet is a local park / field abandoned when it ran out of petrol. Or they couldn't get it started and left it not far from where they took it.

Yeh, she could probably do without being pulled by the fuzz.

I've only been told, in bushes, not far from where it was taken. She's visited the crime scene and there are bits of wiring loom, headlight, mirror, reg plate, etc. etc. scattered around. Write off jobby. Absolute fuckers. Karma

On the plus side, she can use a friends bike for now (friend doesn't use it), and maybe the payout will be enough/nearly enough to take her test. Neutral

Sounds like a simple fix to me. Easy enough to bolt back on, bit of soldiering etc.

I'd avoid insurance and fix it privately if I was her. I'd fix it for her, if I was her friend. That's not because it's a woman, either. Thumbs Up

I would have quite happily helped her rebuild it if thats what she wanted but with all due respect to her the bike needed work/money to begin with. As long as the payout is half decent to get her back on wheels, I can't see much harm done tbh.

Sorry spike, you're not her type Wink

wouldn't claim, it'll bump up her insurance when she does pass/get a bigger bike

if needs money for tests from it best to just sell it as spares/repair or break it herself and sell the parts

MaBoughey on here did just that.
His 125 was nicked, but never recovered, and he got a full payout.

I fed him a huge MTFU pizza and pushed him to get his licence.

He rides a tidy zx9r now. Thumbs Up

Yeah she's been on about taking her test for a while. Just waiting to hear what the dealio is with insurance and that, I don't know how that stuff works. But shes already suggested giving me what's left if she gets it back.

She can buy it back from the insurance once they decide if it's a write off or not.
It'll be about 20% of the value of the bike.
