Track days

Who will all be taking part in trackdays this year?

I certainly will! Althought I can't wait for the summer for ride outs I feel the only place to make full use of your bike is on the track. Nearest to me is Knockhill which will no doubt see me several times this year! Me and a few mates are also considering Mallory and Oulton (not on my bike but my mates purpose built GSXR600!!)

It's all fair and well spanking down country lanes but juntions, pot-holes, animals, POLICE!, car drivers, tractors etc are all risks in using the road as a race track.

I feel it will also help me improve my cornering and braking as I will sure find the limits of mines and the bikes abiltiy. That also means a few mods, first up is crash bungs , end can (purely for noise!) and braided hoses (althought the 6-pots work well, you can always improve!) And depending on how my standard suspension copes, maybe some trickery in that department.

I only hope I don't bin me bike!

So who else has or is going to try??!!

Have a look at the calendar for some dates if you're itching to get out on track, there should be plenty of BCF track action going on this year

I will be doing a few track days this year, dont know if it'll be quite as many as last year. Depends what i'm doing in september, going to uni or getting a job.

I'll be doing what I can afford, with a bit of a bias towards PACE days cos I reckon they're better value for money.

Basically the European Superbike School's version of a trackday. Transponder timing, mock grids and really good marshalling = more time on track.

Certainly hoping to get myself to Cadwell a couple of times. Probably won't happen until later in the year when I might have some 'spare' cash.

What type of can do you have fitted the the ZX6?

I was thinking something road legal anyway but a can thats a bit more 'fruity' than the standard one. Maybe a Blueflame item.

Any tyre recommendations? I'm running Avon AV49/50 at the moment but was thinking of Michelin Pilot Sports??
