Dear BCF,

I've just bought a subwoofer for my car, innit Drooling

There is a long blue wire that comes with the sub (the amp is built into the sub) which is the remote wire, which turns on the amp when the radio is on and switches it off when the radio is turned off (aftermarket stereo).

The wiring diagram for the stereo is quite confusing for me because it gives two possible indications where that remote cable can be connected.

https://pdf.crse.com/manuals/4480658211.pdf

The link takes you to the manual. When you look at the diagram of the stereo, there is one connection labled "Remote IN". The subwoofer includes two fork connectors for the blue wire, but I am going to have to see if the stereo takes a pin connection as the drawing suggests that it takes that instead of a fork connector (EDIT - after looking at google images, I now realise that this may be a derp as it indeed can take a fork)

Is the hole labled "Remote IN" take that blue wire?

The other and more obvious place to connect it is through the wiring harness adapter. However I do not wish to cut the adapter up if that hole does indeed take a remote cable. If so I can just shove the fork in there and that will be that.

Sorry if this question seems derp but I really don't know this shit Laughing

Cheers for any help Very Happy

You need to connect to wire #5, blue/white striped, power amp control (remote out).

Remote in is for controls, such as steering wheel mounted controls, and will probably be a 3.5mm jack plug.

the remote 12v is typically connected to the electric aerial (blue white) wire that comes out the loom of the after market HU, taped up normally,
if there isnt one or it only goes live in radio mode ( not seen this yet but covering my ass) then use the yellow accessory wire found in the loom connector block at the rear of the after market HU, these normally have the clear bullet connectors, so you may have to buy a spare bullet to crimp on your wire and plug in.
