Is my carb flooding the engine

I just want to clarify that what I'm thinking is correct my bike will start eventually but dies shortly afterwards resulting in a wet plug.

Cleaning the plug with a lighter and a bit of rag and it will repeat the process.

It has a good spark outside of the cylinder.

I think my carb is flooding the engine? What do you guys think?

I'm thinking of buying a carb rebuild kit and swapping over the parts I've had it in bits and everything looks pretty clean is there a way of testing them the needle looks ok but I know these things are really precise so any variation in size could course it flood?

Am I on the right track don't want to be wasting money if there is something else it could be .

I would be inclined to check the HT coil, lead and spark plug cap for leakage first and replace the plug rather than cleaning it. Some bikes are fitted with a sidestand switch which can go faulty killing the spark, could also be a ropey ignition switch or kill switch. I would be looking at electrical first rather than fueling.

Ha it's a suzuki gp100 sorry

I've checked the ignition system by doing what it says in the manual resistance tests on the coil and the starter all seems in order plus I get a good consistent spark when earthed to the head outside of the chamber the spark plug is also new.

So if it's getting wet and not sparking in the chamber this would be due to a fuelling issue I think ??

if my memory is correct a gp100 is a two stroke ... so i would be doing a compression check

So I'm pretty sure the ignition system is ok all the tests done with a multI meter were fine and I have a bright blue spark

This morning the bike idled for a good 10mins before dieing this time without turning the light on it just died again the plug was wet so am I right in thinking the carb is badly set up or damaged or the piston rings could be worn or similar.
