I just came back from my first visit to Motorcycle Live. It was jammed. The bike parking was impressively full and you could barely move in the halls. Is it always like this on the last day, or is it a sign the market is finally picking up again?

It was a successful visit. I saved enough on a new pair of Daytona Road Star GTX boots to more than offset the cost of our tickets and got my wife some custom molded ear plugs. We sat on loads of bikes. The BMW F800 GT fit like a glove, but I was less impressed with the Honda VFR800X than I expected.

Hi

We tend to go mid week to try and avoid some of the crowds.

We went on thursday and it was roughly as busy this year as last.

All the best

Keith

I went today with a mate, it was absolutely rammed. Last year I went in the week and it was much quieter.

We found that the crowds thinned out after about 3pm, and we were free to wander about and sit on the bikes that we weren't able to get near earlier in the day.

Unfortunately it seems to go downhill a little every year. The gear shops are slowly turning their back on it, and some of the manufacturer and trade stands seem to get smaller each time. I miss the motocross stunt show they used to have, it's been replaced with some BMX affair that never seems to be doing anything! I also didn't personally find any must-have deals like I have in previous years. I don't think I'll be going next year, but I doubt I'll be missed judging by the sheer amount of people still going.

Was there on Saturday, busiest i've seen it and the busiest stand of them all was BMW.

Interesting draw of people each time the H2 fired up for another dyno run, that and some noisy classic they were running on another stand.

Noise! As for power, no clue, the crowd surrounding it was at least 30 deep in any direction.

Apparently the organisers have said that attendance was up 10% on last year.

That's a shame, that was the best bit! I went in 2012 and had quite a good day, watching the stunt show was definitely the highlight of the day.
They can keep the BMXs.
